Written by Witness the power of art to bridge communities with Trae Isaac’s “Call for Peace” mural, a visual testament to our commitment to unity and harmony, in collaboration with the Boll YMCA in downtown Detroit, Detroit’s City Walls, and SpaceLab Detroit.
Over the last year the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit has engaged in a national collaborative for bridge building across the U.S. with several organizations. The collaborative project aims to empower people to build connections across differences with others in their communities. In partnership with City Walls Detroit, local Metro Detroit artists, and other supporters, the Y set out to create a visual expression of their commitment to bridging community and a call for peace.
Recently, the mural was unveiled with remarks from City Walls project manager Bethany, Boll Y staff and directors, and the chosen artist Trae Isaac.
